The first one was almost like my spirit animal in gaming form, so I tried not to set my expectation bar too high when going into this one just in case. Thank the heavens for the experience that lay before me! Everything good about the previous Polynomial is better, and then expanded. Take it from an audiophile, buy this game and put it next to that emotional core of your heart where it belongs :). Fantastic game! Had a quick go on it and ended up playing for two hours. Didn't realise it doesnt use vive controllers but uses keyboard+mouse or gamepad instead. Not a problem though. My fault for not reading about controls. Easy to assume all vive games use the controllers. Anyway, Gorgeous visuals, great music (not enough of it) and fun play. Certainly a game to get lost in... even if it did take a while to suss out what the heck I was meant to do. Recommended!. I have not put a lot of time into Polynomial 2, and honestly I do not know how much more I am willing to commit. The game is pretty, there is no doubt about that, and being able to include your own music is nice but the space shooter aspect has really started to turn me off. I have several problems with it....first while you can go up and down and roll (no idea why you need to do that in this title) I find it very difficult to tell if I am flying up into a steam of fire, flying above the incoming fire, traveling below it, or am moving down into it. There are built in indicators for the enemy ships to help with spatial awareness but not so with the stationary enemies. The next problem I have is enemy range. Some of the enemies; the fixed 'emplacements', have an insane range and are able to hit you when you cannot even see them. They just toss fire out into the void like a fish spawning and it seems to go on forever. Then there is a problem with balance, at least as far as I am concerned. Get close to the teleporter and there is a generous supply of enemies but when a healing\/speed boost flower would be very useful there are none to be found. It doesn't seem to be possible to go on an attack run, fly back out, and find a place to heal then do it all over again to try and clear out some of the opposing forces. I am not saying this is a bad game. I am trying to play this with the mouse and keyboard, find it aggravating, and liked the first version much more. Your mileage may vary but this is one title I am not going to keep going back to and for me this is not a title I recommend.. Absolutely amazing game, one of the best examples of what VR can do. Despite VR controls being experimental and WMR not officially supported, it works great and feels intuitive. Going through the main game, the difficulty ramps up very smoothly. But my favorites are the extra content. Just load your music and start a space wave shooter with all it's colorful geometric goodness.. Another non-VR game that has had VR compatibility shoehorned in. This game is a graphical mess more than it is trippy or artful. I want to like it but the control scheme is messy, unintuitive; the motion is discomforting and nauseous, and there's no obvious help on how it even works. It's a trip alright. A refund trip. Guys... if you're going to make a game, make it approachable.. Great visuals+ Meditative, but challenging gameplay+ Lots of levels for early access game+ Interisting beat-based design+ Possibility to add your own music (MP3/FLAC/ALAC and more)+ Great optimization because proper game engine + Reasonable price. 10/10 would dimension hop againstay off acid. This game is a great sequel to The Polynomial, and with VR support it's only going to get better.. This game is trippy, fun, and mesmerizing. The game controls well with a steam controller and definitely takes full advantage of VR, The music within the game fits well and I like that you can play your own music. Overall it's one of my favourite seated VR experiences.. Generally I get bored with games like this but in VR with HTC Vive it is amazing. Love the music and visuals. It's an amazing game.
